Jonathan McDonald graduated from the University of Montana School of Law with high honors in 2006 and has litigated cases statewide for injury victims, consumers and small business owners. His peers in the trial bar awarded him the 2017 Montana Trial Lawyer of the Year award after he secured a $26 million judgment against the State of Montana.
Jonathan has practiced law in Helena since 2006 and handles cases statewide. He has successfully tried, litigated and settled cases in all parts of Montana. He has successfully argued cases before the Montana Supreme Court and in federal courts.
In 2010, Jonathan won the Montana Trial Lawyers Association Appellate Advocacy award for his work in helping to defend against insurance policy provisions that courts and legal scholars have declared fundamentally unfair to consumers.
Jonathan is regularly invited to speak to other lawyers in Montana about insurance claims and subrogation. A significant part of his practice is spent co-counseling complex cases with referring attorneys.
Injury victims and their families have turned to Jonathan for help because he provides top-quality representation and limits the number of cases he takes to focus on winning compensation for his clients, through both trials and settlements.
Jonathan and his wife Jennifer have two children.
